Who we are

The Pocket Arcade Club operates this website and is the data controller for the personal data described here — we decide what data is collected and why. You can contact us about privacy at hello@thepocketarcadeclub.com.

What we collect and why

  • Account details — email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google account identifier. Used to create and secure your account and to sign you in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Player card details — display name or username, chosen avatar, favourite game and whether your card is public. Used to show your profile and leaderboard entries. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Gameplay data — scores, games played, dates played, achievements and daily challenge results. Used to run leaderboards, streaks and achievements. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Purchase and membership records — which games or membership you hold, the status of your subscription and a payment reference from our reseller. Used to unlock the right games and to support you. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation. We do not see or store your card details.
  • Technical and security data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs. Used to keep the site working and to prevent fraud and cheating. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning service.
  • Emails we send — sign-in links, password resets and purchase or membership notices. Legal basis: contract. Any purely promotional email would be sent only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

  • Paddle.com — our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the sale of memberships and games, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing and refunds, and processes your data under its own privacy notice.
  • Service providers — hosting, database, authentication and email delivery providers who process data on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers, where needed.
  • Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law.

We do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers.

What is public

If your profile is set to public, your username, avatar, achievements and scores can be seen by anyone on leaderboards and your player card page. You can turn this off at any time in My Arcade. Your email address is never shown publicly.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, player card and gameplay data for as long as your account is open. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 90 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (such as transaction records, kept for up to seven years).

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can exercise the main ones yourself at any time in My Arcade Download my data gives you a machine-readable copy of everything we hold, and Delete my account erases your Player Card, scores, achievements and favourites immediately. For anything else, email hello@thepocketarcadeclub.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EEA, to your local supervisory authority.

Who can see your account

No other member can see your email address, purchases, membership or subscription details. Our database enforces this directly: each account can only read its own records. A single named administrator of The Pocket Arcade Club can view accounts and subscriptions for support, billing and fraud prevention. Public leaderboards and player cards show only a player name, avatar, badge and score, and only for players who have chosen to make their card public — everyone else appears anonymously.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database security so members can only reach their own records.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage only: to keep you signed in, to remember your sound and game settings, and to let games work offline once installed. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear this data at any time in your browser settings, though you will be signed out.

Changes

We will update this notice if our practices change and will post the new version here. See also our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
